This one measures 8 x 6, with a buffed shellawax finish. Not crazy about the finial, but I thought the hf was ok, the texturing was a last miniute thought.

That's gorgeous. What did you use for texturing?

Mike - another really nice HF! Great form and I do like the texturing and the way you limited it to a small defined area. Nothing wrong with that finial! I like the slim design and the fact that it is not overly ornate. Really like the way you recessed the finial so it sits flush with the HF!

Always a treat to see your work! Thanks for posting!

That's a very pretty HF Mike, good shape and the texturing band looks good on it.
I'm not crazy about the finial either, but they are tricky to do, but having it set into the opening does look good, I rather see that than the "up on" added ones, having a continues curve with the form would be icing on the cake, thanks for showing.

Great job, Mike. What is the finial made of? I think it actually complements the piece well. The texturing band definitely adds to the piece--works well with this wood!!

No its not my day job, or I wouldn't be eating...

Nathan, the finial is ebonized maple.

Love the HF and bottom 3/4" of the finial. Ditto compliments on the texturing. It gives the relatively plain wood just that something extra that it needs.
