Do any of you guys ever have those stupid little jingles and ditties that they sing on commercials stuck in your head? How about the "Free Credit Report.Com" ads? I wake up with them playing in my head, I go to sleep with them playing in my head, and everything in between. The three dweebs pretending to play guitar and drums in the Long John Silver resturant, or in the lead idiots girlfriends basement, the one with them getting a "new" used car, and the last installment that I've seen, and probably the most annoying, is the one where lead dweeb is riding a bicycle. Who are the idiots who think up these mind altering jingles? As aggravating as they are, I must admit, they keep Free Credit Report in your thoughts. OMG...There they go again http://www.forums.woodnet.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yellowbigeek.gif "to the F to the R to the E to the E to the C to the R to the E, D, I, T........" I'm going nuts here. PLease help.

I usually change the words around on a few of them. The one in particular that comes to mind is the little puppy that sings "Ain't no bugs on me.....song". After gardening & weeding, I'll come in singing "I got bugs on me, I got bugs on me, Ain't no bugs on some of you mugs, but I got bugs on me":D:D:D Drives LOML crazy.

The jingles may have stuck in my head prior to the mute button invention included on modern remotes but now the only thing that gets stuck is my thumb on that button. I will admit that once in a while one gets through, for instance the one that Mark mentioned. Now I can't get rid of it. :D

I've got a 5 year old girl living next door who is VERY proud that she knows all the words to that. I cant tell you the number of times I've heard an out-of-tune version of that one.:(

Jim,

You have to "give the song away". You do this by sharing it with someone else, so go ahead, sing away. Actually sometimes you don't even have to share it, you just have to get it out there in the open, so you might just sing in the car or the shower. :D One thing that does work is whistling. Try whistling your favorite tune, the more difficult the better. Let me know if it works for you.

Zip-a-Dee Doo-Dah. That's the one that gets me.

No, it isn't on the radio anymore. I play in a band that specializes in 1900's - 1940's parlour tunes.

Four Leaf Clover, Happy Days are Here Again, Silver Slippers, Shanty Town, Saints....

Try getting the "It's a Small, Small World" melody from Walt Disney World's ride of the same name out of your head ... :D

"Save big money at Menards"

or as my daughter sings it:

"Spend big money at Menards"

I took that ride at the '64 World's Fair - I was 8.

Yep, still in there.

Well, I started out whistling the Pink Panther theme and now I'm madly whistling River Kwai March from The Bridge Over the River Kwai . . . if that tells you anything.

Nestles makes the very best...Chocolate!

When you say Budweiser...You've said it all!

Yep, the ad experts do know what sticks in our minds! Suddenly I have the urge to sing!

Some of them do. I was having dinner with a group of friends the other night, there were 7 or 8 of us and we started talking about the TV ad where the guy gets busted by his girlfriend for checking out other women using his shiny new phone. Not a single one of us could what manufacturer or model of phone was featured in the ad, but we all loved the ad.

I've had the Gilligan's Island theme song stuck in my head for years. I don't mind so much though, it's a good song :D.

The thing that kills me is I always think I hear my alarm clock going in the distance. That thing has traumatized me .

I don't know how old you are, but you can't sing that song unless at the end you can make your mouth snap shut ..just like Farfel the dog..

I was at the local casino last night to see Kris Kristofferson, and the Silver Tongued Devil's been running through my head all day... Great show by the way...

Did a service call a few years back and while I was working to their stove the little one was playing with a Barney doll, one you hit the button and it sings, I love you, you love me....and so on..

I finally had to ask the mother to have the kid stop as I was past distraction.
Took several days to get that out of my head, but I did come up with some interesting verses of my own...some kids shouldn't hear. :D

How about the Swiffer Wet Jet commercials, particularly the one with the Mariachi band...

"Baby, come back! You can blame it all on me..."

Whatever happened to the cool jingles--ones like the "Coke is it" song from the early-mid '80s that had a good, clean, uplifting spirit to it?

You guys are killing me here...if you don't see me here for several weeks it's because I got checked in somewhere by the end of today...

Anybody remember this one?
Six-Finger Six-Finger Man Alive
How did I ever get along with Five

I bugged the parents incessently until they relented and bought me one of those stupid things.

Jason, this particular one drives me mad! This song was a hit when I was in highschool. I broke up with my long time (well a long time for high school) sweetheart. He was best friends with a DJ at our hometown AM radio station. EVERY SINGLE afternoon for weeks when I was on my way home from school he dedicated this song to me. It was funny, them embarassing, and now every time I hear the song I think of him. I hope he has a really irritating song stuck in his head right now!:p

Funny . . . now that I think about it, my daddy used to call him "Mop head" because he had long, curly hair.:D I wonder if that's him in the commercials.

When I was in Navy boot Camp in 1983-1984 (yes, over Christmas), the drill companies constantly played the Budweiser song. (And they were very good at it.) That song has been stuck in my head ever since and comes out at the strangest times.

Ear worms are very hard to get rid of.

It could be worse. I've had the trauma to the groin song from bob and tom in my head all day. You should see the looks you get when you catch yourself singing out loud in front of someone!

I listened to your song last night after I got home from work. Honey was sitting on the sofa reading the newspaper. I didn't think was paying any attention to what I was doing, but no more than two minutes after I finished watching the video he starts singing the song without even really realizing it. I laughed so hard I nearly fell off the chair. Thanks!

No problem! Bob and Tom is the only way I maintain my sanity. If I don't get my fix in the morning on the way to work it's not going to be a good day!
