I'm testing it, but I can't wait for the result. I have a few pieces of wood that I've finished with NC Lacquer. There are a couple of potholes that I missed, that I need to fill before I shoot more lacquer. Can I fill them with spackle, seal them with shellac, and then spray with NC Lacquer? or will they fight? What would be better to use?

Thank you!

Ken

I wouldn't use spackle if they are of any size as it isn't really hard. It sounds like you are using a colored lacquer. If so bondo is a great filler. Super hard and that is what it is designed for. Just shoot your lacquer right over it. Or use epoxy and do the same.

Thanks, Steve. The blemishes are small, but I agree - spackle is probably not strong enough. BTW, my test of lacquer over shellac over spackle worked out alright, except that either the spackle shrank a bit, or I did a poor job of filling. Anyway, I'll keep trying.
