I have a chance to buy 4 Hitachi sliding miter saws. Three are working and 1 that does not work. They are all in great condition. I can get all 4 saws and 3 Paslode finish nail guns for $300.00. Is this a good deal?

I am not sure if you are kidding, or if this is a rhetorical question. Either way, if the saws are not worn out, and are accurate or can be adjusted to be accurate, then yes, it is a good deal.

No I'm not kidding. I just don't need them. A guy offered them to me. He is a framer and going out of business. I have never owned one. So I don't know the value of them.

Umm...as long as I knew for certain they are not "hot", I'd scarf them up for that $300 is a split second. It sounds like you have that one concern covered.

You should be able to clean and recondition the saws acceptably and sell one or more for a very nice profit. The Paselode guns are also worth some money...

I'd buy 'em, set one to miter dead on 45 deg to the left, one to miter dead on 45 deg to the right, and then not change them again. Then use set the last one to 90 deg, and use it for straight cuts and the other odd angles that come along.

Good deal I'd say

They are not hot, I know that for sure. I know the guy who has them. He is just retiring and selling his tools.

If you have the real estate, that is a good idea. Clifford

Andy London has a setup like this in his shop up in Halifax...his primary woodworking business is framing, so having things setup with multiple saws makes a lot of sense, especially when they are kept dead-on to one setting each.

A great deal. For my Hitachi 12" SCMS with laser I paid about 575.00 earlier this year. I'd snap them up and put 3 of them on ebay. Make a nice profit and buy some other tools. What else is your friend selling? Is he in Texas?

No. He is in Woodstock Ga. He has a Bosch portable T/S for $200.00 a colbalt 220 40 gal air compressor for $250.00. I think he has another miter saw, not sure of the brand. He sold 25 50' air hoses for $50.00

If that means you are also close to Woodstock, Ga,Ii might be willing to buy one of those sliders from you. I'm in Birmingham, AL (actually Trussville, but close enough for government work or nuclear weapons).

Let me know...
