I have a customer that is requesting a set of letters and numbers for his molding business. He produces molds from cast and uses materials heated to a temp of about 600 degrees.

He wants this set of letters and numbers to make identifiers on the molds. For his low temp materials I have made small squares each with a letter or number out of .11” acrylic. Now I am looking for a material that can withstand 600 degrees that I can engrave and cut. (I have a 35watt)

Dos anybody know of a material that can hold up to 600 degrees without melting? Thank you for your help!

Acrylic melts at 400, Nylon at 500, so chances if your laser can cut it, it can't take 600. Sounds like he needs something that would have to be cut by water jet or CNC.

there are many more like this it would appear. http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6656558.html looks like you can cut this on your laser and apply it to a mold. http://www.cgstape.com/
I would call first and ask.
good luck on your search

Take a look at a company like Gemini for some pre-made letters.
