Here are pictures of my first face turning, a maple bowl that's 7 1/2" dia and 2 5/8" high. It was a little taller before it went flying:eek:
when I had it mounted in jumbo jaws to turn the tenon off the bottom. Luckily, enough was left that I was able to re-chuck it and turn the lip down a bit to clean up the slight damage. It was sanded to 2000 grit, oil varnish rubbed in to bring out the grain, and then sprayed with Deft lacquer and waxed.

Great save on a good looking bowl. Wood is really nice and finish is great. Well done.

Thom....That is a terrific 1st bowl or 21st bowl and to get a great save too! You have hidden talents that are just coming to the surface! Nicely done Thom.
