I was emailing this guy over the weekend who seemed quite legit until the end. I called my credit card processor, spoke with a rep (later found out, i needed to select Code 10 from the prompt) and gave her the credit card info. Within a few minutes she was able to confirm that the first card was not valid and while the second card was valid, the name didn't match the account.

I asked her what if the name did match, but I didn't feel comfortable with it. She stated that if it is relatively easy to steal this info since most consumers aren't very protective with it. When we call in the code 10, they only verify the information, nothing more. If it's turns out to be fraudulent, the banks and the consumers are the ones who will be protected and we as the business owner will lose out. Ultimately, it comes down to gut feeling but at least a quick call to your processor can often confirm your suspicions.
