I just wanted to introduce myself. I have been lurking for a while and decided to post. Here are a few shots of my small garage shop that is slowly evolving as money allows. I learned most of what I know from my Dad and Grandfather who both are highly skilled with their hands. My MIL started this hobby addiction after buying me a skilsaw for Xmas 05'.

TS3650 FIL bought for payment of a project I am currently working on. It is to the right in the foreground. A builtin for his office that spans a 10' wall. It is made of pecan and birch ply.

Small Craftsman jointer my dad gave me. I made some modifications to make it better it will do for know.

Dust collection junction box I made from an old issue of Shopnotes. Each tool has a blast gate. I also have my Vac hooked up with a Remote control that I bought from HD at Xmas time that was for Xmas tree lights. It was like $10.

Mitersaw station I recently built. Air compressor is inclosed on left side it is a POS craftsman that is annoyingly loud! The tool cabinet above has doors that open and have pegboard on both sides. and the back has shelves on the right side and pegboard on the otherside. Yes it is painted to match my tablesaw.

This a shot looking from the door going into the house. The cyclone I made based off of Phil Thien's design it works great! I have a Cleanstream filter in my vac and I rarely have to clean it.

Drill Press my Dad gave me that he got new back in 1984. Its small but it works for what I need. I plan on building a new table for it soon.

Another shot of the garage. Before the woodworking addiction set in I spent alot of time tinkering with my cars. The blue valve covers on the wall came off of my dads first car which was a 62 Belair Impala that had a 283. The chrome valve covers came off my first engine which was a 350 SBCin the Caprice. Wow my cars used to fit in their!

Evolviing but I'm not sure slowly is a good choice of words. It took me about 32 years to say.. OK, I'm done with the Shop. That was about 5 years ago so some of the things you see now will go to someone with a slowly evolving shop and you will see others in your shop that replaced.

Bet ya on that one.. :D

Nice shop and continue evolving.... :)

Very nice looking shop. I wish my shop were that organized and clean. Most of the time I cannot see beyond the saw dust. I plan to get dust collection under control in the near future though. Have fun woodworking.

Welcome to the creek........

Looks like a nice little shop and you have utilized the space very well.

The problem I see is that its just to neat and there is no saw dust all over everything......

Nice looking shop.
Your placing the bench to do double duty as an outfeed table really has me thinking again about doing the same.
Seems like I do 90% of my work on the outfeed table and the bench more or less just stores stuff.

Bill,

The Ridgid Air cleaner works pretty well. I got if Xmas this last year and have cleaned it about three times. It has two filters and the inside one I'm not sure what micron it is but works pretty well. I have actually thought about building a home built air cleaner as well using a gable fan from Home Depot. They sell one that is 16" in diameter that moves 1500 cfm for like $67. I was going to use 1 cheap filter and 2 pleated filters in it. By the way the Ridgid has two speeds. The high speed is a little loud but you get use to it after a while!
