Hello,

Wouldn't you know it, CTC now has a moisture meter. My last meter met the concrete floor in my basement shop and was dead upon rescue and has yet to be replaced. http://forum.canadianwoodworking.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

This looks to be OK in the pic but would appreciate some comments about anyone who would know about this meter. What exactly does the accuracy specs that CTC posted on the link mean.

Someone also posted recently about a moisture meter at Princess Auto. Can someone provide the link for me?

Thanks for you help,

Well for us folks in the States, we can't enter the site with out a valid Canadian postal code and when I searched for moisture meter it came up with "no results" I did locate the meter here: http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/product_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=140847439 6672909&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524443296844&bmUID=1217608281533&assortment=primary&fromSearch=true
However, I've never seen on like that before, so I can't comment on how good it might be. I have one of these that has worked quite well: http://www.lignomat.com/MoistureMeter/moisture_pin_meter_mini.htm Normally moisture meters cost considerably more than $40.

For those in the US that would like to look, you can use
M4P 2V8 for a Canadian Zip code.
As to the meter, I am not familiar with this model. As with most equipment of this nature, you kind of get what you pay for. For the same money, Penn State sells a model that tested OK in a Popular WW article after some modification to the pins.
