I made carved cake for my advanced cake final based on an old family hierloom. It is an NCR series 2 register.

Nope. Despite the decorations on the cake, I do not believe in adding food colouring to foods as I feel that is is unnatural.

Back in the 60's we stopped in Eufaula AL - just happened to park in front of jewelry store. In the window was an old register similar to the pic. I wanted a closer look and when I stepped inside the salesperson saw my interest and told me the brief story.
Inside one drawer was the original bill of sale, 1905. The store had just purchased a new electronic register and this one was no longer used.
The bill of sale indicated the cost $500.00.. I immediately ask if they would like their money back.:D
I wonder where that beauty is today.

My wife's father was a baker and he could also do amazing things with cakes and decorations.
Well, while I'm here let me relate one of her favorite stories about birthday cakes.
She was the youngest of three and on her birthday she would alway plead with her dad "don't cut the roses"...
That happened for several birthdays until the day he was ready for her.

When the "don't cut the roses" came he slid the knife under the cardboard disk the was under the icing and lifted the whole top of the cake off and put it on her plate.

Bet that would at least get honorable mention on funnies home videos.
Thanks for your time, hope this was not too long.:)

Keep on cooking (baking)!
