I'd like to see what options there are for mobile bases for a Powermatic DDS-225 sander. Comments on how well it rolls, how you lock it in place if the base has that capability, and pics if possible. Thanks...joe

Joe,

I have my DDS-225 on the Grizzly Super Heavy Duty mobile base. It is down right difficult to roll. I plan on replacing the casters when I get around to it. Locking is not a problem In fact it is hard enough to roll that I never lock it. Unfortunately I can't get a picture for you because I am working in Yokosuka Japan for 8 weeks.

I have mine on a steel base originally made for something else. You can get mobile bases for any small machine though, not a problem. I once saw a Buss Planer that had to weigh several thousand pounds on a HTC base. It could be moved with 1 hand and very little effort.
