Thanks for the excellent review Derek. I have the Jack and Jointer in mesquite and love them. Your review was very informative and I'm looking forward to your review of the sharpening box.

I was wondering, what were your thoughts on the handles? Also, is there much weight difference between the Blum planes and the metal planes? I ask because I haven't tried a metal plane and wonder if they would be more tiresome.
