Fantastic. You know, I can look at some pieces and they just look "right" the proportions, the shape, the grain, the finish. This cabinet and your table are just beautiful, I can't wait to see the hall table.

Thanks for sharing, I hope to someday be able to not just see "right" but to be able to create it...someday...

That has got to be one of the finest pieces I have seen here on SMC. And not a stitch of Marquetry or Inlay... ok well, I stand corrected not everything is better with it ...just most things.

Seriously, that should be submitted if you haven't already. You pick the WW magazine. Any that have galleries should highly consider. Heck, its even contest worthy. Have you thought about it? Get your self a good lot of quality photos and go for it.

That is the nicest wine cabinet I have ever seen! The design and craftsmanship is just awesome. That is the kind of furniture I wish I could make.

BTW, how did you attach the door panel to the spindles?

I am such a traditionalist that I never have the desire to do this kind of work. I can honestly say I have never seen David Marks do a piece that I would do.

However, I do admire the balance, the execution of detail, the art, design, and certainly the hours and hours of work. I don't even want to think about the cost of materials:eek:!

This is a winner!! As Don says, "it just looks right."

Again, not my style - most of what all you true artists do isn't - but my gosh, if I could execute work like that, I would feel like I had crossed the line. You are a master! I am just a woodworker.

The piece looks eloquent to me and I, like John would not build the style for personal use as I am a very casual person. You have mananged to take several exoctic species and blend them into one unique but yet simple design. The lines are clean without complication keeping the piece simple without ornamentation.. the grain match with various species is excellent.. execution of joints is excellent and the beauty of the species you chose speak for themselves.

The icing on the cake is the way you handled the door. With that addition IMO.. the simple design becomes exquisite as it begs the eye to "look at me"...

Well done, Alex...
