I'm looking at building a toy box for my little girl. Due to my limited size of my machines I will need to do some panel builds to get any reasonably useful size. I found some need V-Notch Tongue and Groove bits (MLCS #7843 or 7735) opposed to the plain old bits (MLCS #7737).

Is it my imagination or could I get the plane T&G bit set #7737 and then make a second pass with a chamfer bit or round over bit to get to the fancy T&G given by #7843/7735?

A regular tongue and groove will work fine. Run your T&G profile and then you can chamfer or even use a beading bit to get that prettier profile.

Just after posting, I remembered reading an article on your topic and found it fairly easy. It requires membership but Fine Woodworking has an article titled "A Back For Every Cabinet" that should come up in a search.
