Hello. I'm new here and this is my first post on a woodworking forum.

I have an O.I.T. (Omaha Industrial Tools) 16-speed, 5/8 (16mm) floor drill press (model# DPFS 5617) made in 1994 in Taiwan. It belonged to my dad and I got it after he passed away three years ago. It's virtually new and used very little. I did a web search and found absolutely nothing on this model, or any other OIT power tool, for that matter. Any info about this drill press would be helpful. It appears to be a high quality heavy duty press. I'm going to be downsizing & moving soon and will likely have to sell it so I'm trying to determine an asking price. What would this tool sell for new and used?

Thanks
Will

I would guess that Omaha Tools imported some drill presses made in Taiwan and had their name put on them. Based on the name and model numbers, it's impossible to say what the quality level is or to guess at a price.

Grizzly now sells a drill press with the similar specs for $250 <http://grizzly.com/products/G0491> (http://grizzly.com/products/G0491). That might give you an idea on where to go.

Thanks for your responses. Here are a couple of pics of the drill press that I took this morning:

I had an almost identical looking machine labeled Clarke. I got $100 for it on Craigslist.

I had an identical one labeled "Buffalo" and sold it recently for $150. It was a five speed. Not a bad machine. I bought mine about 1981 or so and it served me well.

Thanks again for your responses. That's helped me greatly in determining a selling price.
