Ash and Paduk box

Another of the tear drop shaped boxes. This one is from Ash, squattier than the others, 8" x 3.5". I made an eccentric finial from a scrap of wood I think is Paduk. It's very red, redder than the picture shows. I thought the red finial might liven up the bland Ash.

Very nice work Curt! I like the way the Ash grain seems to pop! Also like the way the top is slightly recessed into the box - adds a little definition to the area. Your off-center finial also adds charactor to the piece! Looking forward to your next one!
