Google "beer tap handles" and then click on images search, you'll get over 400,000 images for inspiration. This works great for all kinds of other turning projects too!

Looking for some input also like what bushing is used, where to buy parts, how to install and things of this nature. I do use google for many things.

The taps I have on my home bar are a standard size. I don't know what size off the top of my head but my plan is to just drill and tap the wood when I make new handles. The actual mechanism is chromed and I purchased it from a home brew supply on line. The handle is cheap plastic currently with the male threads on the chromed valve.

You could epoxy in a threaded bushing if you were concerned about strength.

You will want to check the tap it is designed for the make sure they are compatible. I am not aware of a universal size for taps.
