Hi,
I am woodworker, but haven't gotten into building wooden boats yet.
Has anybody seen an illustration of the contents of a ship carpenter's tool chest? I'd love to find one. I am wondering what would make their collection of hand tools more unique than say a house carpenter. More chisels maybe?

Check here Jim
They seem to have a large-ish collection of antique shipwright's tools.

This is a very good book that I recently purchased after it's author joined the Creek.
He specifically has illustrations and photos of Ships carpenters tool boxes.
Highly recommended.

PS. This link will give The Creek a bit of credit for the sale.

Thanks. I did some more checking on the web site Angus recommended and I do like Tolpin's book. If you are interested there is also a neat picture of shipwright tools in Ronald Barlow's The Antique Tool Collector's Guide to Value on p.196.
Have a great day!
