I am going to make some drawers for my miter saw bench and I want to use rabbets in the side of the drawer. How thick do I make the drawer sides and how deep do I cut the rabbet? Is there a standard size? I see that most drawer sides are 1/2" thick, but I am concerned that this may not be thick enough to have a rabbet in the side. Thanks in advance.

A piston fit drawer with a 1/4"-5/16" dado works for me, but for shop drawers which I treat roughly, I use the steel full extension slides (100#).
