Hello fellas.

I'm Devonwoody, and I want to post a wooden box I have made for a long standing American friend who lives on the main Island of Hawaii.

Do you know of any import restrictions?

Or can anyone give me a telephone number of your customs dept. on that Island.

Thanks for looking.

I cannot give you an expert answer, but I can tell you this. My family has mailed plenty of wood products from Australia to the US without any trouble. They want the wood to be free of insects, but just about any finished piece is.

A little more detail can be found here:

http://help.cbp.gov/cgi-bin/customs.cfg/php/enduser/std_alp.php

and enter "importing wood."

Good luck finding an answer.

Chris

Thanks for your help, On the face of the info provided it would appear OK, but sent them off an email because I know from visits to Hawaii they have certain quarantine requirements.

Hey John,

Who's your friend?

I live on this island and am in the woodturners club.

Aloha, Pete
