Question before I buy an Omnijig...

I have heard that an Omnijig will only handle 3/4" stock out of the box, and that I will have to pay more for the ability to use 1/2" stock. Does anyone know if this is correct?

Also, any other significant functionality that the Omnijig lacks that I should know about?
