I had a small blank left over out of the vase I posted the other day, so this is what it ended up being. Oak and walnut, measures 5 1/2 x 7 with a shellawax finish.

Mike I like this a lot. It has a very interesting pattern. I am going to add this to the top of my someday list.

Made me have to re-focus my eyes a couple of times, but it is a really cool design.

Wow - you just keep coming up with great design variations! Beautiful work on this one - great pattern, joints, finish, form and colors! Looking forward to what you come up with next!

Mike, great job. I like the contrasting woods with the simple smooth curve. Nice complement of color & shape there. Forgive the "newbie" kind of question, but I've never done segmented work before, and am just getting into hollow forms...so did you glue this one up with a void inside already, or did you have to hollow it out after it was glued up? Dumb question, I know. Forgive me.

Not a dumb question at all Nathan. It is glued up as a solid piece and then turned endgrain. A lot simpler than it looks.
