Burgess Bit

Does anyone have any experience with the Burgess bit set? How does it work with 3/4" or 11/16" plywood?

I tried a set out on the client once and didn't care much for it. LOTS of tearout along the edge and inconsistent edge thickness. I imagine with Baltic Birch it might do an ok job, but with cabinet grade ply it wasn't a good edge.
