I bought a used saw that needed a lot of work to return it to an almost new condition. One of the problems is that it did not come with the original table. The original table had been replaced with a 2 foot x 4 foot piece of 1 inch particle board, and a glued on fence. I need to know the widths of the 3 pieces that make up the original table and the width of the piece that gets clamped between the 3 pieces to make the fence. If it matters, the saw is a model 113.19771.

Hi Russ,

There was a post that dealt with this a while back. Do a search for "yard sale find". I got a new table and blade guard for my saw for free due to a recall.

Good luck with it,

Bill

Some of the Craftsman saws have a recall which they will send you a new table and blade gaurd. here is the web site with the info. I tried to look it up with the model number you gave but it says its not a good number.

My Craftsman RAS is a model 113.23100 and the four pieces of the table are all 40" wide. The front board is 19" wide, the fence is 3/4" thick the small spacer is 2" wide and the large spacer is 5" wide.

Thanks to all. Apparently I'm eligible to recieve the guard kit for the recall, and it will include a new table assembly.

Please note that the depth of the "recall" table parts are different than the depth of the original table parts. When I installed the "recall guard" and the "recall table" I lost a lot of cross cutting capabilty so I stayed with the orignal guard and table.

I have no choice but to go with the "Recall Table," since I don't have the original table.

Or you could build one according to Mr. Sawdust's recommendations:

Do I have to buy his book, or is there a link or something that I'm missing? I don't see anything on the site that will show me how to construct a RAS table.

I have no association with the book but, IMHO, it's worth every penny of it's asking price. It contains lots of safety information, techniques that I never thought (or heard of) and examples of some fine work done on a RAS.
