LED imbedded in acrylic rod

Since there seem to be several LED experts on the forum, and my engineering time is really limited at the moment, I am looking for someone to embed a medium bright LED in one end of a 1/2 inch acrylic rod, approximately 20 inches in length, with the rod stabilized at the same end in a 2" x 2" x 1/2" (preferably dark) base that contains support components and a mini plug for a 9 or 12 volt wall wart.
