Hello all,

Ive purchased this old lathe from a retired woodworker, he says it was custom built by a machinist.

For the headstock i ll buy a chuck but for the tailstock i want to use a revolving center but it seems on the market all the lathe accessories come in morse taper. Is there an adapter available for converting to morse taper inserts?

would you be able to bore it out? or to make a peice that holds the insert and sticks into the tailstock? what came with it?
are those oil cups on the top of the headstock?
great score by the way looks something like a 14inch swing, right? welcome to the vortex

Check with " Little Machine Shop" they carry a ton of stuff for mini lathes and mills ( metal working). request their catalog it is small () paper job , on page 81 they list arbors and show a 3/8" straight shank to 2JT jacobs drill chuck for 9.98 and on pg 80 they show a 10 mm striaght shank live center w/ 60* point for 19.95. is it possible the machinest put a R8 grind inside the tail stock? it is straight for about 3 inches then the end that sticks out has a narrow included angle to fit the ts spindle ( typical mill attachment for end mills etc and adraw bar to hold / center it up snug. Also the Practical Machinist forum may have someone who can help make or locate exactly what you need . I do not have any $ intrest in any of these companys or forum.Good luck and if you like pm me and maybe I can help you find or make what you need ...You may consider replacing the ts spindle with something more common and easier to get accessories for.they have complete tail stocks for 59 to 89 $ and would not be hard to adapt to your lathe,( page 41).Page 32 and 33 list some neat chucks 3 to 6 inch and adapters for just about all smaller lathes under 100$
