With the price of gas, it's getting to expensive to get lumber from my favorite sawmill in northern Indiana, so I need to find a local source. Has anyone used one of these two distributors?

1. Wood Shop (http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&q=sawmill&near=Champaign,+IL&fb=1&view=text&cd=1&latlng=40008597,-88548548,12432714122652978380&ei=EYh1SJCSCaXCigGu8YHjBA) Monticello, IL

2. Schrock's Sawmill (http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&q=sawmill&near=Champaign,+IL&fb=1&view=text&cd=3&latlng=39637155,-88386557,4967207137772908521&ei=EYh1SJCSCaXCigGu8YHjBA) Arcola, IL

If need be I can drive to Bloomington, but I thought I would see if I could find something closer first.

I'm afraid to say I don't know anything about either of those places. I've been going to Chicago, Owl Hardwoods, for wood. I've got family up there and can usually combine the trip with a visit to make it worth while.

Let me know if you learning anything.

If you can use roughsawn wood there is a sawmill in Milford, Il. He sells 1" oak for $2.25 a BF. The name is Donald Hubner and he's in the phone book.

George,

Have you bought from the guy in Milford? I am curious what type of wood he sells and if it is air dried, kiln or green.

I live just north of Champaign and would love to find a local source for hardwood.
