I'm in the market for a bandsaw, ran across a couple on the local Craig's List that may fit the bill. They are both 14", 1HP, both listed at $425, one is blue, one is white, the blue one looks like it may have a larger re-saw capacity (which doesn't matter to me), do the colors mean anything?

TIA, Scott

The Blue one is an older version. Jet went to White several years ago (15 +/-) Dick B.

I could be wrong, but I think JET's conversion to white was more like about 2000 -2002 or so.

|Ibelieve you are right. I bought a blue table saw in 1999 new.

Blue is prior to about 1997. Not any real difference in the designs...in general...but there have been adjustments to some things over time.

The owner of the blue one says the manufacture date was 12/97, and he claims it's made of better steel in a better factory than the ones made today, whatever that means.

Thanks for you responses, I've decided to buy a 12" Jet that I can get for $100 on CL, maybe I'll upgrade someday!
