Chair seat foam

Ive made a couple rocking chairs now and was surprised at how expensive the seat foam is. I purchased about a 10 ft x 2ft x 2in high density slab for about $100 at an upholstery store. Im gonna guess there is not a better place online to purchase slabs of foam as it probably gets shipping cost prohibitive. What is your experience?

My experience is that online sources are considerably less expensive. Shipping isn't cheap, but okay. For bigger pieces, they vacuum-bag it to make it smaller. www.foamorder.com and www.rochfordsupply.com are suppliers I've bought from.

What type of foam from Rockford would you recommend for a seat? There were two type at the store I looked at lower density foam was 1/2 the price of the high density. the HD at 2" seems about right for a seat cushion but its hard to relate to what Rockford has. What do you use?
