This is the last great mystery of the tools Norm used. There may be one or two minor items left that aren't worth bothering about, but this is a belt sander that made five appearances in the first season, and I've never seen anything like it.

I apologize for the quality of the pictures. These aren't even vidcaps, which are usually pretty nasty. These are pictures taken of the TV screen of an EP VHS tape I made from HGTV's broadcast. They're worse than nasty. But you should be able to get the idea.

The case is a battleship gray and almost looks like plastic in some angles; in others it looks like metal.

If you have any idea of make or model of this belt sander, or if you have one, please let me know.

Thanks.

Rod,

That looks a B&D model I used to have about 25 years ago. I got it from a friend who was doing boat repairs. Sorry I can't tell you the model # it long since gone away.

Hi Rod

Looks like a very early version of my 20+ year-old Bosch which was produced in green colour as a less expensive version of their blue & grey line. Over-all shape, handles, belt adjustment lever, side housing etc are quite similar. I can send you a photo if you'd like.

Cheers, Garrett

I concur Ron, it's definitely old and kinda greyish green.....

Looks like a B&D I used in a cabinet shop in Orlando, Florida in about 1971+-.

Really liked the profile. Also the sanding belt was flush with the side of the case. Easy to sand inside cabinets. Sure would like to have one just to use ocasionally.

Rod, how 'bout sending your photos to the NYW web site and ask there. I would think Normy would give a answer or at least somebody at the site.
