My friend Lew is going to be a birthday boy tomorrow. So I made him a tray...Zebra / wenge legs. Very thin...a lot of work! But there is only one Lew!
Daly's Ben Matte...wet sanded w/ wet and dry 400...only one coat so far.... 3 coats should be good

A very nice tray Mark. Then again, I knew it would be when I saw your name! It looks nice now; will 2 more coats of finish be noticeable in a photo?

Last night we went out with Lew and Dottie and we gave him the tray. He really liked it. He asked a lot of questions . Dinner was very good I had a blackened Ono fish sandwich and a very nice Cabernet (Santa Rita Reserva)
Thanks for your comments, I enjoyed making it for a close friend.

Inspiring. I'll name my rendition the "Singer Tray." (if you don't mind) I have a slab of rosewood that I didn't know what to do with.

That's very nice, Mark. I know you like the zebra/wenge combination, for good reason. I've now used those woods together on several projects, after having admired one of your earlier examples.
That curved lip seems to be a trademark of yours. I hope you don't have to hog away 60% of the zebrawood to get it, but I don't see any alternatives.
Great work.
Cary
