Hey guys,

For those of you who like old Stanley planes, my father I picked this one up at an auction a week or so ago. I did some cleanup on it and I think it turned out excellent. We had been looking for one of these for a while and am really happy to now have one. Would any of you have any idea as to what this plane would be worth?

Any idea of its age? I am aware of thedating page but it refers to the regular Stanley bench style planes and not the Bed Rocks

Hope you enjoy the pics.

Kevin

That will make a nice user. :)

I believe your Bedrock was made between 1900 - 1908.

I agree, it looks to be a type 3, 1900-1908.

Looks excellent, how much work did you have to do to make it look so nice?

Oh let the ENVY begin!
What a very nice tool. Only wish it was sitting on my bench!!!
Enjoy

I have an older No. 8 (not 608), and have found it quite helpful. One word of advice: Using it for a long time is like wearing construction boots and then taking them off - you realize how heavy it is! When you pick up a No. 5 after an hour of so of using this, you'll have to check to see if you accidentally picked up a No. 2 that you hadn't noticed was on the bench. Getting the board roughly in shape before you use this is wise - unless, of course, you're a rugby player ("if it doesn't hurt, how can it be fun?") and bench press small Honda cars before breakfast just to wake up.
