I turned this out of the largest piece of mesquite that I got from Robert. I ran into a couple of white soft inhabitants that I treated rudely even though they enhanced the looks of the wood.

My first NE. Sharp tools and taking my time with light cuts kept all most all of the bark on. Only one of two small pieces came off and then they were upper pieces of bark. I left the wall thicker than I wanted (about 5/16") but I chickened out.

Danish Oil finish, no buffing. I liked the low gloss on this piece.

I was happy with how it came out.

Very nice NE Toney! Beautiful wood - really rich color! I also like your choice of finish. You can see the wood without fighting the glare! Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Toney,
Beautiful piece! Looks familiar, like maybe saw it elsewhere. Great job on keeping the bark.

I noticed today that the bark has separated in one spot from the sapwood. Does anyone know of a fix for this problem?

Should I take some CA or black epoxy and fill the separation?

Thanks,

Toney
