Howdy,
I did not see an introduction area, so thought I'd post here. I've been lurking for a few weeks no, so thought I would de-lurk. This is an excellent forum. I run a music related internet forum, much smaller than Saw Creek, and so I can really appreciate the time and effort that has gone into this forum... especially the degree to which it is kept on such a civil basis - I congratulate the administrators and moderators! (and you have my deepest sympathy too - haha...)
In any case, I've been a woodworker off and on for about 35 years, my degree is in Industrial Arts (taught public school one year, but started having kids and a need for more lucrative work, so ended up as an Operations Director for a private non-profit, looking after the computer network and physical plant). I've made furniture, turned wood and built musical instruments - mostly acoustic guitars, but a few ukuleles and mandolins. My current woodworking interest is building Arts & Crafts furniture, the kids are gone, and the spouse and I are going to get a little more serious about fixing up our 1917 bungalow house in its original style. Even though I have too many projects going -- I'll probably join he mission chair communal build. FYI, the creek has already cost me a fortune :p - I've ordered lumber from Mike Mrogan, and taken advantage of clamp and saw blade deals and the LOML may find my hidden stash of purchases soon! ;)
Looking forward to getting to know some of you folks. Thanks for a great forum.
