12-2 w/grnd max amp

I should know the answer to this, but wanted to verify...what is the max amperage brkr i can put on a 12ga-2 wire setup for 220v? I am figuring 20a just as if it were a 110v circuit. it is only about 25ft from the sub panel.

20a would be typical outside of some special applications or extreme distances.

An important aside. Wire sizing is based on amperage without regard to voltage. ( I am limiting my comment to the low voltage applications ie <600V)
