Very nice work Jonathan! Good looking wood for all of them but really like the wood and forms on the last 2 photos! Looking forward to seeing your next ones!

Funny how all of us have probably made a bowl as depicted in photo 2. However, I'm still working on getting one as nice as the last photo.

Good work and keep it up!

They're all very nice, if you could combine the form of #4 from the left and the wood from #5, you would have an amazing bowl.

the first two bowls have about 5 coats of tung oil.
The next two bows are shellac
and the last one is polyurethane.

Bowl four is spalted elm. I have about 15 more large blanks of this stuffed out on my shop floor from last year. I'm sure I can get one with the shape of bowl 5.

hopefully before all the bugs eat it. I was turning a piece of it last night and there are these odd white grub type things in the wood. anyone know what they are called?

A very nice selection of bowls with very attractive wood.

Bowls look great, nice selection of wood.
Sprinkle some Borax around to get rid of those bugs.

Jonathan,
I think Ben has it exactly right. That bowl #4 is really special, particularly for the form and execution. That's the style that really appeals to me and I've been working on it too. How big are these bowls??

Bowl #2 = 9" x 2.5"
