I'm checking the pulley alignment on my new 15HH planer and it seems to be a little off, but I can't see how loosening the motor mounts and wiggling the motor back and forth (as suggested in the manual) is going to fix it. I've attached a pic of the straightedge on the face of the bottom pulley. You can see there's a gap at the top of the pulley of <1/16" - I think maybe about .040-.050" This gap is the same on each side of the axis of the pulley. The straightedge is flush with the face of the top pulley (not shown in this pic).
It seems to me that the only way to eliminate this is to shim the motor mount somehow with washers under 2 of the mounting hole locations. Wiggling it back and forth would not correct in this plane.
Anyone gone though this and can shed some light on the subject for me?
Thanks
Lewis
