i finaly got the lathe last night. it has a 9inch swing. it has a 1/3hp motor on it, but i am switching that to a 1hp. it is an old craftsman with brass bushings and oil cups. i might post pictures later, but as some of you may know my face is covered with poison ivy and i can barley see right now.

Way to go Curtis! (on the lathe I mean, not the poison ivy). Can't wait to see what comes off of it.

Very happy to hear you finally got your own lathe. Once that lousy poison ivy:eek: clears up, I hope to see you really show something.

Talk about an excuse... poison ivy! Better get those pictures up soon!

Really, congrats on the lathe, and I hope your face heals up real soon... if only you were wearing the face shield near the ivy!

face sheild wouldve helped. i think i got it when the tree i was cutting down fell on me, it was only little, but the top branches that brushed against me had been up in the leaves of a poison ivy vine. it has gone down a lot since this morning. i should be able to get pictures tommorow, unless it gets worse
