Jr. Strasil and I are cooking up a galoot get together in September.

Jr. has a trailer that he sometimes uses to demonstrate 19th century wood working tools and techniques, he's bringing it down and we're setting it up in my garage. Anyone who is in the area is welcome to stop by and say hi.

Full details can be found here:

Bump and clarification:

ADVANCE NOTICE; A Fall Galoot/Neander get together is in the planning for the last week end in September.

When: Friday and Saturday, September 26th and 27th.
Start time: somewhere around 9AM
End time: whenever we feel like we've had enough...

Early Birds will be encouraged to help set up the shop which is in an enclosed cargo trailer. Somewhere between 10 and 11AM Friday morning.

Meals will be on your own or we could possibly do something as a group, we'll play it by ear.

Where: Don Peterson's Garage - 12505 Walmer st - Overland Park, Ks. 66209
Turn East from Metcalf Ave, onto 125th st at the Saint Lukes Hospital south ambulance entrance and wind your way around to Don's house, its a dead end street, so parking wll probably not be a problem. Map quest directions are encouraged.

Features:
Demonstration by irnsrgn (Jr. Strasil) who will have his mid 1800's demo shop set up in part of Don's Garage and you will be welcome to look, ask questions, touch and use his hand tools.

Show and Tell by those bringing their favorite hand tools to show.

Tailgating and or a Buy, Sell, Trade Table Hopefully, bring the tools you want to part with and maybe take some home you can't do without.

Bring your own refreshments for consumption during the get together, No Alcohol Please.

Good Behaviour is a MUST as this is a residential neighborhood with houses close to the site.

We may have some smithing tools set up to boot.

I'm looking forward to it Jr.!

I spent the day clearing out the garage...

My wife is pretty glad we're doing this because she's been wanting me to do something about the garage for a long time.
