This may have been gone over before, if so please excuse my ignorance. Has anyone used the lacquer based polish for the lathe from PSI? or is this just another friction polish that wont hold up. Thanks for your input.

Bill,
Whatever it is, I have not used it, but you might want to state the exact product that you are asking about. There seem to be lots of brands of very similar stuff.

The product I'm talking about is on page 44 of the PSI Woodturning catalog. It's listed as a friction polish but claims it's lacquer based. Most friction polishes I'm familiar with, I believe, are Shellac based. This stuff is $21.95 a can + shipping so I'm hoping someone has tried it and can give me their opinion.

Bill can't tell you how long or how tough it is but I bought some to try on pens and lidded boxes. Cindy Drozda uses it on her lidded boxes. I talked to her and David this weekend at the Symposium. She said she thinks it will hold up right nice. Goes on nice and buff real nice.

Thanks Bernie, I'll give it a try and let you know.
