Is it even possible to make an L-shaped raised panel door? I want to make a door to replace the existing one on my corner cabinet. It has an L-shaped door that fits flush inside the opening and it attached on the back to the shelves of a lazy susan. I will try to get some pictures posted to illustrate what I need.

Ok, I have some pictures. In these two pictures, the corner cabinet is on the left, and the cabinet just to the right is the style of door I want to replace it with. The problem is going to be how do I make the doors fit together in the middle of that L?

This picture shows the cabinet with the door closed, the one below has the door open, showing how it is attached to the lazy susan.

maybe just fake the joint? Don't try to make it look like one door with the rails continuous from one door to the next. Make it look like two separate doors with a face frame in between them that rotates as part of the door?

Doh! Why didn't I think of that? That would certainly be a heck of a lot easier to build, wouldn't it? I suppose I could butt-join them together in the center....

You could possibly pull of the look you're thinking of but I think it means you'd have to "cope" the joint. Basically cutting two raised panels with only 3 sides raised. Then "cope" the edge of one panel to fit snugly around the profile of the other panel. You'd basically cut out a negative profile from the edge of one board so it'll snug up against the other. But that really is tougher to pull off cleanly than just two panels and frames.

Yup, I would make two doors and butt them together, but don't forget one needs to be 3/4" wider than the other. Don't ask how I know.

One stile needs to be wider not the door.

Here is a visual on how ours were done.

Yes, but that's a different door than mine. That's the kind that's hinged one one end and opens outward. Mine is actually attached to the lazy susan behind it and rotates with it, the door moving inside the cavity and around as the lazy susan moves.
