I engraved 2 crystal wine glasses and the crystal seemed a lot harder to engrave than plain wm wine glasses. I had to use less speed and actually hit the glass 2or 3 times to get it to come out right.Has anyone have any input on this matter. Thanks alot

The cheaper the wine glass the better it engraves!
Lead crystal tends to break off in larger bits where as the cheaper glass have more sand and tend to produce better results when etching.

A pretty good test, is to flick the rim with your fingernail..Compare it to a dollarstore wine glass. The clearer the ring, the higher quality of the glass, and the more careful you have to be in etching it.. I have also found some good quality pilsner type beer glasses that etch beautifully, but you can tell by the ring and the etched finish that the glass is a heck of a lot harder...
