Would MDO work for an exterior application? Would I just need to prime and paint it?

MDO is designed for exterior use. Prime and paint it and you should be fine. We use it all the time for outdoor signs. 3m makes an edge sealer for it if you want to be extra cautious. its called 3950 Edge Sealer.

Hi Bob. While I've never personally used MDO (Medium Density Outdoors), that is what it is made for - to be painted and to be outdoors. My understanding is that it is exterior plywood with resin impregnated paper for the outer layers.

Ha...I like Medium Density Outdoors vs. (the correct, I think) Medium Density Overlay. Certainly more descriptive.

Have you received your Felder equipment yet, Todd? I am seriously considering the AD 741 or 751 but I'm not sure I can justify the price tag. Hammer's price is more digestible...sigh...wish Delta or Grizzly or more "local" guys would sell these combo machines....
