This is my first off center finial I was able to complete without breaking it. Still needs a lot of work but I'm starting to figure it out. Turned without any special tools or chuck, just using a round tenon in spigot jaws and tightening it down skiwampus in a couple positions. The whole thing is 11" tall x 4.25". The box is Osage orange, finial is walnut.

Very impressive Curt! The word 'Whimsical' comes to mind as it looks like something I would expect to see one of the Harry Potter movies. As everyone strives to create their own signature finial - looks like you did it! Very nice work - great imagination! You always post something just a little different and get the rest of us to think! Thanks for that!

OH! you mean't for it to look like that. Actually, it looks great, and as Steve said, it could be your signature piece.:D:D

Don't know how you did it as I have enough problems with a "straight" finial..........Ron

Glad to see such a great finial! I have thought and pondered and reviewed and decided not to try it. Now I'll have to think about it some more! Really a nice job!

First class work Curt. Must have been very satisfying to turn the finial! Nicely done.
