Here's some wood recently gifted to me by friends and aquaintences. Holly tree logs, plum and a little oak in pic #23 (to the left) and cherry, cedar, and soft maple and 3 pieces of 'Russian Olive' in pic #25 (on the right). Some of the cherry and cedar have pith degradation, but we'll see what 'turns' up - jeez, I crack myself up. Mike

Any time you can get olive for free, that ain't minor. I've got a relative that has a bunch of olive trees. Keep thinkin about visiting with my chain saw...

Curtis - it's a large chunk from the trunk of a plum tree a friend took down. I turned a nice hollow form from another piece, but alas it was too green - it has developed a crack near it's base. I need more of that thing - what's it called - oh, yeah - patience. Mike

Congrats on a great wood gloat. Free wood is good wood.
