Basic Bottle Stopper Question

I would like to turn some bottle stoppers, but they seem to come in 3 different styles: chrome, cork and silicone. Is one style better at sealing the bottle than the other two? Any other advantages to choosing one over the other two? Thanks.

I have not used them yet but they are on my list to try out. I read somewhere where someone put a bottle on its side on their display to show it was leakproof.

I have not had much luck yet turning stoppers but hopefully that will change soon.

I make a lot of bottle stoppers and give them away to friends and family so I use the silicone stoppers which are cheap enough to give away, are effective and have a long life.

If I were selling them I would use Ruth Niles stainless steel stopper at about $5 per copy.

Corks dry out and don't last long but are probably the cheapest. ......Ron

Also if you use cork it can pick up the color from a red wine.
