Well rockler finally made good on their 20% off memorial day sale. It finally
took a letter to the main office to get action. Picked it up today for
1280 plus tax. They didn't act too happy about, so i am guessing that
they didn't make anything on it. Now i have to get rid of my delta 715
to make room.

Congrats Byron,
Glad to see you stuck to your guns and got what you were supposed to.

I would have also.

Everyone should.

I'm thinking that they probably lost some money on the deal but if they had honored it from the start how much would you have spent with them on accessories for the new toy... I mean tool? I think that they probably would have made up the difference and had a better customer for it. Just my $1.75 ( which will get you a slimline if you are not paying tax on it)

I had the same thing happen when Rockler put the 1642 2HP on sale last December. The local Woodcraft said that they would match the price and when they found out that they would lose money on the deal, they tried to back out. I hope you enjoy your new 1642 as much as I do mine! :D
