I've inherited a nice 10" inca bandsaw - I think it is model 342.186. It doesn't seem to have any dust port and the manual that I found on the internet is pretty bad. Does anyone have one of these bandsaws connected to a DC system? I'm trying to decide if I need to put a dust collection connection under the table or in the side of the housing. I really would hate to cut a hole in the side of the thing! Any ideas or suggestions would really be appreciated.

I've got the later model with a built-in dust port. It is moulded into the cover, and sits just behind the lower blade guide. I think that if you took a vacuum cleaner nozzle and taped it in the same place you'd get an equivalent effect -- it isn't the most effective collector I have ever seen.

Is is under the table or in the side? Can you point me to a photo?

Adam--

You might contact Jesse at Eagle Tools to see if he has the dust fitting. I bought a nice used Inca 10" saw a few years ago and it didn't come with the dust hook-up either. I was able to get one (it was the later blue color, but I just spray painted it to match the Inca gray on my older machine) and it works fine. There is also an Inca board on Yahoo if you want to ask any other specific questions or need a manual scanned.

Enjoy the saw as it is probably the most precise small bandsaw ever made.

Ron & Kevin - thanks! I emailed eagle tools - hopefully they will have something. Otherwise I'll fashion something myself to fit.
