This time I show how I made the frame and panel cabinet doors, with emphasis on the simple design elements that enhance their looks. For example, it is desirable to match the grain across the rails – and always keep track of which frame piece goes where ;-) . But the visual focus is truly on the bookmatched spalted maple panels on the doors, and the bookmatched cherry veneer on the back:

What kind of hinges will you use, to keep the attention on the wood?

Brian,

I will be using knife hinges; most of the hinge remains concealed. They mount on the top and bottom outer corners (edges) of the doors, and only one-half of the actual hinge connection will show. The following is from the Whitechapel page:
