I recently acquired the 14" Harbor Freight bandsaw and cannot seem to get the wheels coplanar. From all that I can gather, the adjustment should be made by shims on the top wheel. Unfortunately, the top wheel is proud of the bottom wheel an 1/8", and there are no shims to remove. The bottom wheel is on the powered, keyed shaft. I hesitate to shim this wheel, because it doesn't seat that deeply. Anyone overcome similar obstacles (without buying a new Rikon)?

Coplanar is overrated. 1/8" is close enough. Fire it up.

Seriously, there's most likely no need to get closer than where you are. Put the time into getting the table perp to the band.
